Independence & Well Being sent representatives from Enablement, Outreach Team and Adult Placement Scheme to the Healthcare Show at Excel London on 27th June 2019.
One of the hottest days of the year made the tube journey very challenging!- however the wealth of knowledge and information at the event gave us all a lot to be excited about.
The main streams of interest was the advancement in assisted technology which could be used in all three teams to streamline and enhance our ways of working.
In particular, the use of mobile apps and electronic care plans in Enablement which could help ensure medication audits in particular, would be a seamless task using minimum resources and ensuring full CQC compliance.
There was a lot of interest and information in Workforce Transformation, the future of primary care and in prevention and healthier communities- the scope of new technology and its positive impact in care services both residential and domiciliary based was very impressive.
New technology in motion activated projections for adults with special needs was great fun and would be effective in any setting. (see pic of Helen using the floor based technology)
We all left with bulging tote bags full of leaflets and information- we even had time for a quick blood test using state of the art technology which gives results in 10 minutes- far in advance of the current NHS timescales!
Thankfully we were all given a clean bill of health which ended the day perfectly.
