Rose Taylor
Rose Taylor is a day centre provision for older people and those with varying degrees of need. The team promote and facilitate activities with the aim of improving the health, physical and emotional well-being of all who use the service.
Activities include cookery, fitness, music, reminiscence, bingo, arts and crafts, gardening, quizzes, hairdressing, massage, physiotherapy and for any ‘silver surfer’ iPads with appropriate applications.
Our customers enjoy morning refreshments and a cooked lunch. We are supported by a number of sessional workers and Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to provide activities. The primary outcome is social interaction, companionship and friendship. The service users have formed partnerships with Latymer School, Challenge and Equals Employment. These groups encourage young people and adults with learning disabilities to interact with older people.
The centre has an adjoining allotment where the produce grown is cooked in an adapted kitchen which is also used for baking. This aims to help people to learn new skills or maintain the skills they already have. The reminiscence areas are popular with the service users where they have the use of the cinema and old style pub environment RemPods.
During the year there are also supported visits to local places of interests, for example Woburn Safari Park, Broxbourne Canal trip and local gardens (Forty Hall, Myddleton House Gardens).
